Gold Medal winner in khelo India Youth Games 2020

The Year 2020 marked it’s beginning by highlighting Darshan Academy as a star in the galaxy of Athletics at Guhawati during “Khelo India Youth Games 2020” wherein  Payal once again broke the record of winning Gold in Under 17 in 400mtrs and silver in 200 meters event. Winning gold in Junior National Games earlier, Gold in East Asian Korean Athletic Meet at Korea in 200mtrs and 400mtrs and gold in School National games in 200 meters made her win the title “The Golden Girl” of Darshan Academy. She has been selected twice as the “Best Athlete” by CBSE.
On her return, taking great pride in her achievements, Darshan Academy, Delhi gave rousing welcome by organizing a Felicitation Procession cum Ceremony in her honor on 17 January 2020 to its premises.  The program began with a grand procession with great pomp and show with students, their parents, and other contingents of school teams representing various games played at school such as Basketball, Badminton, Rope skipping, Wall climbing, etc., proudly led by their coaches. It was a visual treat watching young lads welcoming their hero, Payal with pom-poms and flower petals together with school Principal, Mr. A David, Head Mistress, and Co-ordinators at the school gate with garlands and bouquets.
Mr.A.David, Principal gave a brief report of Payal Vohra’s achievements since 2015 and how the school Management Darshan Education Foundation is helping and supporting her financially to achieve her dream. They were joined by Shri Akhilesh Tripathi, MLA-Model Town, the Chief Guest on the occasion. He had great praise in his speech for her as she not only made them but Delhi proud.
After the formal welcome, Payal Vohra has presented a sports kit with a tracksuit along with a floral accord though she has already been granted Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj Scholarship earlier and along with free education as a motivation. Becoming emotional during her speech, Payal also showed her love, respect, and gratitude to the Management,  Principal, teachers especially the coach who trained and the entire school for the support through thick and thin in every possible way. The program ended with a presentation of a vote of thanks.
